Pre-Screening

We will have our program manager contact you by phone to discuss the specifics of your application and to get to know you better once you have submitted it. We will discuss many parts of your surrogacy experience, such as why you want to do it, any health issues you have had, your family history, who supports you, and more.
Participation from a spouse or partner in a relationship is highly encouraged throughout the interview process.

If you are not in a relationship, it is a good idea to have someone who can help you, such as your parents or siblings, join the call.

During the interview, we will ask you many questions designed to understand who you are and what drives you to become a surrogate. We will also ask you about your support system, past pregnancies, family dynamics, personality traits, relationships with others, interests, and expectations from the intended parents, among other things.

Obtaining Medical Records

Our devoted screening staff will begin collecting your medical data after our OneWorld Generations program has pre-approved you. This approval is essential if you want your medical history and surrogacy eligibility to be fully understood.

Our staff will ask for various medical documents based on the details you provide in your application. Information relevant to your reproductive health includes but is not limited to, records from your past visits to an OB/GYN, details from each of your pregnancies, including labor and delivery, current pap smear results, and any other relevant medical information.

Once we have collected all relevant information, our screening staff will assess and analyze it meticulously. We will investigate any concerns or dangers that you may have to ensure that you can have a healthy pregnancy as a surrogate. Our staff is entirely forthright when we undertake this evaluation and will let you know if we find any potential issues.

Based on the information you have provided during the application process, our team will request various medical records. These may include, but are not limited to, your previous OB/GYN records, labor and delivery records for each previous pregnancy you have had, recent pap-smear results, and any other pertinent medical information that is relevant to your reproductive health.

Once we have gathered all the necessary records, our screening team will carefully review and analyze them in a thorough and comprehensive manner. This review process aims to assess any potential risks or concerns that may impact your ability to carry a successful pregnancy as a surrogate. It is important to note that our team conducts this review with the utmost transparency, ensuring that any identified risk points are communicated to you promptly and openly.

Matching Process

Based on your expectations, we will assist you in finding the perfect intended parents. In the first place, we will use the site or email to provide you with the profiles of the planned parents. To help you and the intended parents get to know each other better, we can set up a conference call if that interests you. Please ensure that Zoom is installed on your mobile device or laptop since people often use it for conference calls. Thus, you are granted priority in accepting or rejecting profiles. We use a combination of profile exchange and conference calls to facilitate question- and- answer sessions and guarantee a suitable match. You will soon get confirmation of your match and be able to proceed to the formal screening procedure if you feel comfortable after meeting with your possible Intended Parent(s).

Clinical pre-approval

To ensure everything goes well when you and the intended parents’ match is confirmed, you must provide all the information to the intended parents’ in vitro fertilization facility. To make this easier, OneWorld Generations will transmit your medical data to the clinic for review. This file contains your prenatal and delivery data and your entire pregnancy history. The clinic can sometimes ask for more medical information to bolster their assessment process. You will be pre-approved by the clinic after the review is over.

Importantly, our screening staff at OneWorld Generations looks over all of your paperwork in advance. Before submitting the records for pre-approval, any possible risks or concerns are discussed and addressed with the surrogates. This screening means the IVF clinic has a better chance of approving us for pre-approval since our records review passing percentage is so high.

It is worth noting that at OneWorld Generations, our screening team thoroughly reviews your records beforehand. Any potential risks or concerns are communicated and resolved with the surrogates prior to sending the records for pre-approval. As a result, our records review passing rate is exceptionally high, ensuring a higher likelihood of successful pre-approval by the IVF clinic.

Create and Finance an Escrow Account

OneWorld Generations requires intended parents to create and fill an escrow account with adequate cash after their records are pre-approved by the clinic. We make sure our surrogates are protected and financially stable by doing this. The escrow account will keep and distribute the payments as an impartial third party throughout surrogacy. It guarantees that the intended parents will have enough money to pay for everything. In addition to facilitating the resolution of prospective financial conflicts, the escrow account encourages openness and responsibility. By implementing this measure, we are demonstrating our will to protect the welfare and economic interests of our surrogates.

Psychological screening

Following the clinic’s pre-approval of your records, OneWorld Generations will schedule a certified psychologist to conduct a psychiatric assessment on your behalf. The psychologist will further evaluate your emotional and psychological health and preparedness for the surrogacy process.

There will be a chance to speak with one of our psychologists throughout the screening. The surrogacy procedure, your goals, and your expectations will be the focus of their inquiries. The main objective is to ensure you are ready for any one-of-a-kind obstacles and have a thorough grasp of the emotional complexity involved.

Psychologists will watch how you handle stressful situations, how well you communicate, and how well you set limits for yourself. These evaluations are crucial for gauging your resilience in emotional challenges. The psychologists will also want to know who in your personal and professional life can help you through this so they can be there emotionally for you when you need it.

During the screening, you will have the opportunity to engage in interviews and discussions with our psychologists. They will explore various topics related to your motivations, expectations, and understanding of the surrogacy process. The goal is to ensure that you have a comprehensive understanding of the emotional complexities involved and that you are prepared for the unique challenges that may arise.

The psychologists will also evaluate your coping mechanisms, communication skills, and ability to establish healthy boundaries. These assessments are important as they help determine your capacity to navigate potential emotional stressors that may emerge during the journey. Additionally, the psychologists will inquire about your support system, both personal and professional, to ensure that you have a strong network in place to provide emotional support throughout the process.

Medical screening

Surrogates undergo a battery of tests designed to diagnose any physical or mental issues that can affect their ability to carry a child through the surrogacy procedure. This all-encompassing screening comprises a battery of tests, including assessments of hormone levels, screenings for infectious diseases, genetic testing, and imaging exams of the uterus and reproductive organs, such as hysteroscopies or ultrasounds.

To establish if the surrogate is physically capable of bearing a pregnancy, the medical staff at the IVF clinic carefully examines the test findings to evaluate hormone levels, uterine health, and any other factors that can impact the surrogacy journey’s outcome.

The main goal of the medical screening procedure is to ensure the surrogate and intended parents’ health and safety. An important part of it is finding out if there are any health problems that might develop during the surrogacy procedure. By reviewing the surrogate’s medical profile comprehensively, the IVF clinic can make educated judgments and provide suitable medical care along the trip.

OneWorld Generations will help the surrogate to coordinate the required legal procedures after she obtains medical clearance from the IVF facility.

Legal process

Key components of the legal procedure for intended parents and surrogates include establishing parental rights before delivery and writing the surrogacy agreement.

The first step in the legal procedure is creating a thorough surrogacy agreement. The intended parents and surrogate mothers have roles and duties in this contract, which addresses crucial matters like financial support, healthcare costs, parental rights as defined by law, and any preferences or special agreements reached by all parties. The surrogate, the intended parents, and their legal representatives go through the surrogacy agreement, review it, make any required changes, and sign it.

Getting a pre-birth order is the second step in the legal procedure. This order is essential procedure for designating the intended parents as the child’s legal guardians before birth. Depending on the jurisdiction’s legal requirements, a pre-birth order is issued in the middle of the pregnancy. Legal parental rights are granted to the intended parents when a child is born.

Transfer

After you have received the all-clear from the law, the fertility clinic will show you how to get ready to transfer embryos; hormonal treatment is necessary to bring your menstrual cycle into line with that of the egg donor or intended mother. With the aid of these drugs, we achieve optimal circumstances for embryo implantation.

To prepare your uterus for the transfer, you can have blood tests and ultrasounds done regularly throughout this period of preparation. In order to select the best time for the transfer, the medical staff at the IVF clinic will attentively observe your hormone levels and the thickness of your uterine lining.

Your visit to the in vitro fertilization clinic will occur on the scheduled day of the transfer. The fertilization clinic will use a catheter to insert the embryos, which have undergone meticulous preparation and selection. The ultrasound will help guide the insertion of the catheter into your uterus via your cervix. After that, the fertilization clinic will carefully deliver embryos into the uterine space. In most cases, the procedure takes very little time and is relatively non-invasive; after that, you will have some downtime before returning home.

You should rest and avoid exerting yourself too much for a short while after the transfer. In the early phases of your pregnancy, the IVF clinic will provide you with detailed instructions on what to do, including when to take specific drugs, how much sleep you should get, and any precautions you should take.

Pregnant

The medical staff will check your levels of human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) around ten days after the transfer. If the first HCG level is not very high, the IVF center can schedule a follow-up test two days later. This two-part test helps track the pregnancy’s development and HCG levels. You can rest knowing the medical staff can quickly do the tests in a laboratory close to your home.

Once you have Conceived

It is essential to stick to the medication schedule given by the IVF clinic until the end of the 10th week if you become pregnant. It is crucial to adhere to the prescribed measures throughout this period. The IVF clinic will arrange a heartbeat test for you during the sixth or seventh week of your pregnancy. This heartbeat test will help the doctor assess the progress and viability of the pregnancy. When you are 10 or 11 weeks into your pregnancy, you will be ready to leave the in vitro fertilization facility and begin receiving prenatal care from an OB/GYN. Your prenatal treatment and checkups will now proceed in the same manner as any other pregnancy. During pregnancy, your OB/GYN will monitor your progress, check in regularly, and provide all the support and advice you need.

Delivery

At OneWorld Generations, we will ensure that all the required paperwork, such as the surrogacy agreement and pre-birth order, is sent to the hospital, where the baby will be born around two weeks before your anticipated delivery date. We will also contact the hospital’s social worker to confirm that the surrogacy agreement is acknowledged and recorded appropriate. For the medical personnel to provide the right kind of assistance and care throughout the birth, that they must be kept informed. For the sake of you and the intended parents, OneWorld Generations will coordinate closely with the hospital and other pertinent parties to guarantee a safe and healthy birth.

Standard Base Compensation

Base compensation for surrogates serves as the foundational payment for their invaluable role in the surrogacy process. This compensation typically reflects various factors, including the surrogate’s experience, location, and any specific medical or personal circumstances that may influence the arrangement. Establishing a fair base compensation is essential, as it not only acknowledges the surrogate’s commitment and sacrifices but also sets the tone for the overall compensation package.

We believe that each surrogate should have the opportunity to determine her own compensation. To provide a general guideline for base compensation, OneWorld Generations has outlined the following calculation rationale.

It’s important to note that, in addition to base compensation, surrogates will receive additional benefits, which are a significant part of the overall compensation package. For more information on the complete compensation structure at OneWorld Generations, please refer to here.
